LKC Awards

Each year the LKC honors LKC members through the Mena-Valdez Awards. The awards are named after our inaugural LKC Co-Chairs, Laura Valdez and Dr. Salvador Mena. Please consider  nominating a Latinx/a/o colleague for one of the LKC awards. We know Latinx/a/o professionals are doing great work on our campuses and want to acknowledge them via the LKC!

To nominate someone for an award, please fill out a nomination form in the NASPA Awards Portal. Please note that you will be asked to submit a nomination letter along with the nominee’s current resume or CV.

Donate to the LKC

The success of the LKC events is heavily dependent on the generosity of our members and sponsors. Individual, institutional and corporate sponsors make it possible for these events to happen and for the LKC to provide scholarships for members of our community. Please consider making a donation to the LKC's Special Interest Fund, hosted by the NASPA Foundation.

Established in 2002, the LKC actively promotes the empowerment of NASPA members  through education, research, shared knowledge, advocacy, and mentoring initiatives, creating opportunities to connect with student affairs professionals, learn and share promising practices, influence policy and political change, and volunteer with colleagues. The LKC hosts  an annual Latinx/a/os in Higher Education Pre-Conference Institute, webinars and presentations, a newsletter, listserv, and awards.
