How Well Do You Know TPE?
What do NASPA and six other national student affairs organizations have in common? Their commitment to The Placement Exchange, the largest year-round and onsite student affairs career placement resource. Presented by NASPA and ACUHO-I, with NACA, NODA, ASCA, AFA, and HigherEd Jobs serving as partners, TPE helps candidates plan their next career moves and accomplish their professional goals, while also assisting employers in recruiting and hiring from a diverse applicant pool.
Did you know that TPE is not just an onsite placement event? We often think of TPE as the big expo hall filled with hundreds of tables, nervous candidates, and employers in school colors interviewing around the clock. And, yes our annual TPE Onsite Spring Event is our flagship event. However, each year more student affairs jobs are actually posted on the TPE website outside of the onsite event. As a matter of fact, during the 2017-2018 school year, over 2,000 positions were posted on the TPE Online Job Board.
The field is witnessing a growing trend of searches taking place year round. As more positions are posted and subsequently filled, this leads to more movement between positions off-cycle, which leads to more positions being posted and filled year-round. We encourage you to post a job or check out the current postings!
Although TPE recognizes there is no definitive hiring timeline for student affairs positions, we understand the majority of positions are still typically posted in spring for a summer start. We are committed to enhancing the TPE Onsite Spring Event each year. Registration is now for 2019! TPE Onsite will be held March 6-9 in LA immediately prior to the NASPA Annual Conference.
We know LA can be an expensive city, so we have kept the candidate early bird registration the same price again this year! And employers, we have actually lowered the price to post a position knowing you often bring one interview team for multiple positions. We hope to see you in Sunny LA!
TPE also offers a variety of career resources available to both candidates and employers. Between our monthly webinar series, the Executive-in-Residence program and blog posts, and professional development opportunities such as the ambassador and intern programs for grad students, our TPE volunteers and staff work to provide important resources and programming year-round.
Whether you are looking for a job, hiring for a job, or know someone who is looking for a job or hiring for a job (so really, everyone), make sure to take advantage of all TPE has to offer: year-round online and virtual career resources, an online job board hosting more than 2,000 jobs each year, and two TPE Onsite events (both the popular Spring placement event and a newly added, more intimate Summer TPE Onsite) each year.
