Visit Austin with Campus Tours
We are thrilled that we get to experience this year’s 2020 NASPA Annual conference with you in Austin, Texas - the live music capital of the world. This year’s Campus Tours will take you to visit four diverse and distinctive campuses, including a community college, a HBCU, a private institution, and a large public institution!
This year, our Campus Tours theme is innovation, and we cannot wait to show you all the new programs and facilities at our four distinctive Austin higher education institutions! Our tour is one not to miss!
● Visit the ACCelerator at Austin Community College. This bright, open space represents the future of education. Here, students take innovative classes, access state-of-the-art technology, get academic coaching, and much more. On a recent student survey, 99 percent of students said they would recommend the ACCelerator to others.
● Check out St. Edward’s University’s newly renovated Recreation and Convocation Center (RCC). The center cultivates an appreciation for healthy lifestyles, meaningful relationships, leadership development, and a positive lifelong attitude toward holistic well-being. In particular, the renovated space also features a state-of-the-art Wellness Resource Center.
● Explore Huston-Tillotson University - the first institution of higher learning in Austin! HTU is a private, historically black university located in the heart of East Austin. Visit the Davage-Durden Student Union and Anthony and Louise Viaer Alumni Hall. Hear from students and staff about producing excellence through innovative programs, such as the STEM Research Scholars Program.
● Walk around the Forty Acres! The University of Texas at Austin is a large, public research institution, home to over 50,000 students and the Texas Longhorns. UT Austin’s Division of Student Affairs boasts many innovative centers, including the Center for Students in Recovery and the William C. Powers, Jr. Student Activity Center.
And if that isn’t enough, we will provide insight into local attractions such as the Texas State Capitol and the South Congress Bridge - as well as provide you a light breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.
