Activating Intersectionality: What to do, now that you know
PC 54The focus of this session is to integrate the use of the term intersectionality in student affairs. Through interactive and reflective activities and using a socio-ecological model, participants will develop overarching strategies, as well as, primary intervention strategies to address cultures of multiple oppressions. Intersectionality will also be used as a framework to critique with care the ‘safe space' paradigm. Participants will leave with resources and tools to be applied in their own spheres of influence and have the opportunity to create a network of support and community of practice around intersectionality in student affairs.
