Creative Partnerships with Purpose: Using Artwork to Facilitate Deeper Dialogue Around Harm Prevention

PC 48

It's time to shift the prevention conversation to skill building and taking action! The Blanton Museum of Art and BeVocal: The Bystander Intervention Initiative of UT Austin, formed a unique partnership where brave and difficult conversations take place in the galleries. Studying artwork offers the potential to examine ourselves, develop critical consciousness, and build skills to become active bystanders. Attendees will learn about the collaboration, how to translate the key concepts to their campus and then experience a facilitated curriculum of the program in the art museum.
