Decreasing Stress and Anxiety while Fostering Compassion and Resilience

PC 07

Student affairs (SA) professionals and the students they serve experience profound stress and anxiety. Research has shown negative impacts of stress on well-being and cognitive performance. Presenters will introduce low-cost, trauma-informed, research effective practices to participants that are intended to decrease stress and anxiety and increase compassion and resilience. With continued practice, participants can also decrease implicit bias and racism. Participants will leave with a tool kit of practices for their own use as well as ideas of how to embed these practices into their work with students.
