Funding First-generation Efforts through Success Narratives and University Advancement Partnerships

PC 06

Does a lack of funding thwart your institutional first-generation efforts? Unsure how to frame your successes for internal and external audiences? Presenters in this session will share strategies for crafting success narratives and building a dynamic relationship with University Advancement while developing fundraising skills. Specifically, presenters will discuss how to get started, role differentiation, narrative development, and leveraging support for first-generation initiatives. This workshop will focus on securing support for first-generation college student scholarships and program initiatives, yet the skills are transferable to all student affairs practitioners.
