Living Our Best Life: Self-Care Practices for Student Affairs Professionals
Research indicates that a self-care plan can help to enhance health and well-being, manage stress, and maintain professionalism as a student affairs practitioner. However, competing priorities, dual roles, and a professional culture that often results in limited time for self, can all create a barrier to identifying and then practicing a healthy self-care regimen. Without healthy self-care, student affairs professionals may experience compassion fatigue. In this experiential pre-conference workshop, participants will learn to identify activities and practices that support well-being as a professional and help you to sustain positive self-care in the long-term.
