Perfection is a Farce! Navigating the Seas of Imposter Syndrome in Search of Student Success
This workshop will describe psychological models underpinning imposter syndrome and the damage perfectionism models create. Concepts underpinning fixed versus growth mindset will be reviewed as attendees develop approaches to address challenges in our educational environment focusing on perfection, versus embracing the aspects of learning for students to evolve and learn from mistakes. The impact of institutional assessment and implementation can ensure that attendees develop a holistic mindset about their student affairs and student support offerings to help students succeed.
