Professional Preparation for Aspiring AVPs:  On Becoming an Assistant/Associate Vice President of Student Affairs

This session will explore the professional competencies required of successful Associate/Assistant Vice Presidents (AVPs) of Student Affairs. Participants will learn from sitting AVPs and chief student affairs officers about the practical application of those competencies, while higher education search firm professionals and chief student affairs officers will explore professional preparation and strategies for approaching the search process for those seeking the position. This pre-conference program will include interactive presentations, panel discussions, small and large group processing, and individual and small group coaching.
