Sharing and Learning the Common Themes of Women of Color: Resiliency and Self-Care

PC 11

There is a shortage of women in leadership roles at institutions of higher education in general but when you examine the number of women of color, the numbers are even more dismal (Rusher). What messages do women of color hear that encourages or discourages them during their professional growth and journey? This half day workshop will allow women of color to share personal experiences of how they have stayed resilient and successful in higher education using the Resilience Tree Model (Sobers) as a framework.
