Student Affairs and Faculty Collaboration: Infusing Strengths and Shadows into Team Effectiveness in an Experiential Leadership Program

PC 56

While current personality tests help students increase self-awareness - they do little to help students become more skillful at managing themselves when life gets challenging. What is needed is a deep assessment that goes beyond understanding students' personal strengths to also identifying their personal challenges and the unconscious dynamics behind them. Presenters will explore the concepts of strengths, personal shadow and shadow projection in a lively and engaging way, sharing and integrating exercises used successfully in a tiered, co-curricular leadership development program.
