When Parkland Goes to College: Trauma-Informed Response for a New Generation

PC 51

On February 14, 2018, students in Parkland, Florida watched their classmates die in one of the nation's worst active shooter attacks. A few months later, students in Santa Fe, Texas encountered the same worst-case scenario. Students are currently embarking on their collegiate experience having experienced more trauma than any previous generation. In this session, former Parkland students will share their experiences transitioning to college, and student affairs professionals will reflect upon their readiness to welcome this unique generation to campus.
