2021 NASPA Annual Conference Wellness Activities

The wellness activities committee is continuously working hard to provide some fun opportunities for activity, engagement and connection, as well as finding some time just for you! Please check back often as details of events are finalized on a rolling basis.

Yoga

Whether you are new to this artful practice or a seasoned yogi, come and virtually join fellow NASPA colleagues for an opportunity to dig deeper into the intention and meaning behind what you say, what you do, and how you move through this world. Free, open to all abilities, and from the comfort of your own home!

Body Resistance HIIT

Body Resistance HIIT (high-intensity interval training) is a workout that alternates between short bursts of exercise and less intense active recovery. Best of all, not weights! We'll be using our own body to create resistance. Free and open to all abilities. Simply be sure to create some space.

Intentional Chair Stretching 

As we are sitting at our desks more than ever, it's important to take time to complete stretches. Be sure to follow along during this intentional chair stretching session.

Pause & Paint 

NASPA's Wellness & Outside Events are excited to have an event where you can be creative as well as take the time to be reflective. Self-care, connection, and a little bit of creativity. Pause & Paint will be a time to slow down and take a pause in your busy schedule. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with others while flexing their creativity muscles. In this session individuals will be asked to draw/paint "where am I today".  

Supplies Needed: Any that you have useful! Pens, paper, pencil, sticky notes, crayons, markers, and/or if you have them on hand, paint and a canvas.

Mindfulness Moments

There are several benefits about mindfulness reflection. Including, but not limited to, reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep, decreasing reactivity, improving patience, and more! Join us in mindfulness forum throughout the conference for reflection that you can implement in your everyday lives.

Pause for Paws

Welcome fur babies, scaly friends, and underwater pals! Let’s welcome our pets into the NASPA community, with a moment to take a break from NASPA sessions and connect through the joy that pets bring into our lives. Join us throughout the conference in the Pause for Paws forum to share your favorite pictures and videos of your current, past, or future pets!
