2023 NASPA Annual Conference Wellness Initiatives and Outside Conference Events
The wellness initiatives and outside conference events committee is continuously working hard to provide some fun opportunities for activity, engagement and connection, as well as finding some time just for you! Please check back often as details of events are finalized on a rolling basis.
NASPA HOSTED Events
The 1965 Freedom Plaza and Kings' Embrace Community Service Project
The wellness initiatives and outside conference events committee is encouraging participants to take advantage of this years Community Service Project. The 2023 Community Service Project is to raise awareness of the Embrace Boston campaign of uplifting known and unknown figures of the civil rights movement. Boston Red Sox Game
The Boston Red Sox home opener is March 30 against Baltimore Orioles. They will also play the Baltimore Orioles on April 1 and 2. They will then play the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday and Tuesday, April 3 and 4. NASPA has pre-purchased a limited number of tickets for the Tuesday, April 4 at 7:10 p.m. game. Tickets are a first come, first serve and attendees must be registered for the full conference.
All tickets have been claimed. The group will be sitting in the Infield Grandstand: Section G11, Rows 13-16 if you'd like to buy a ticket nearby.

BOSTON STRONG - Organized Morning Run and Walk
Join the wellness initiatives and outside conference events committee for an organized morning walk and/or run to honor of the 10-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombing.
There will be three routes available and a volunteer leading for each of the walk/runs.
- Date: Tuesday, April 4
- Time: 6:30 a.m.
- Starting Point: Seaport Hotel Boston
1 Mile Route: Out and back from the Seaport Hotel to the Boston Children's Museum
2 Mile Route: Out and back from the Seaport Hotel to the Faneuil Hall
5 Mile Route: Out and back from the Seaport Hotel to the Boston Marathon Finish Line
Please plan to arrive early to make sure you join the preferred group.
Fitness Opportunities
Join the wellness initiatives and outside conference events committee for Fitness Opportunities! All offerings will be hosted on Level Two in the Foyer of the OMNI Boston Hotel at the Seaport. Space is limited so it'll be the first come, first serve.
HIIT Class
This HIIT class, high intensity interval training, is a famously effective training method to increase your metabolism, heighten your energy, and keep you burning calories all day long. We will cycle between high intensity body weight movements and shorter lower intensity movements, or rest, to get the heart rate up and get you sweating. This class also includes a proper warm up and cool down to prevent injuries and fatigue. Be sure to bring your water! Space is limited - first come, first serve.

Gentle Flow Yoga Class
Gentle Flow combines a series of postures, where with a gentler, lighter paced flow, students will be able to move with a sense of ease from one posture to another, coordinated with the breath. This softer pace will allow you to be more present with each posture. Designed to create space to explore your practice, to find the connection between strength, stretch and flexibility, stability and ease, and to gain greater understanding of alignment and balance in the body. Space is limited - first come, first serve.

All-Levels Vinyasa Yoga Class
In this yoga class, students will be guided through a sequence of postures in coordination with their breaths. The class will be instructed through a gentle flow and learn types of breathwork that can be used in everyday life. Vinyasa style yoga is a great way to clear your mind and is considered to be a form of moving meditation. No experience needed! Space is limited - first come, first serve.

BOOTCAMP Class
This boot camp class mixes cardio movements and bodyweight exercises to maximize your burn. This class is meant to push you and keep you on your toes. This class also includes a 5 minute warmup and cool down to keep your body safe and happy. Space is limited - first come, first serve.

Boston Common
From a utilitarian common ground for activities like grazing, militia formations and public hangings, the Common evolved. Its peaks were leveled cows were banned and 19th Century Bostonians added trees, fountains and statuary. The Common became the park-like greenspace we know today. Mapparium (Mary Baker Eddy Museum)

Fenway Park Tours
Since 1912, fans have flocked to Fenway Park to watch the home team play in the heart of Boston.
