Constituent Group Sponsored Sessions
NASPA has many communities and groups that tailor your NASPA experience to your interests, professional level, and institutional type. Constituent Groups focus on a specific area, creating opportunities for connection, collaboration and community. Constituent Group Sponsored Sessions are 50-minute general interest sessions that are selected for sponsorship by a NASPA Constituent Group.
Defining Constituent Group
One of NASPA's greatest assets is the celebration of the many identities and passions that our members bring to our organization. Our Knowledge Communities, Regions, and Divisions and Groups provide opportunities for our members to find their professional homes within our association.
Knowledge Communities
Our current Knowledge Communities began early on as NASPA networks and task forces that were launched in response to specific issues of concern in the field. Today's Knowledge Communities serve as smaller groupings based on functional areas and identities that allow individuals to find their place of belonging within a large organization. With over 30 Knowledge Communities, these groups operate as content experts for the organization and communities of support for student affairs practitioners.
Divisions and Groups
Divisions and Groups provide programs, services, and resources around a particular area of focus, professional level, or institution type, helping set the direction for NASPA's efforts in these spaces. These groups provide focused attention to the service of many key demographics of our community.

Receiving a Sponsored Session Designation
NASPA is excited to roll out changes to Constituent Group Sponsored Sessions based on focus groups held over the summer. For 2025, we have updated the program selection process to allow Constituent Groups to choose from an expanded pool of programs. Constituent Group reviewers considered both programs submitted specifically to their group for sponsorship, as well as the top ten scored general interest session submissions in their group's content area.
What does it mean to be sponsored?
Sponsored sessions will be highlighted in the conference schedule as part of the Constituent Group’s programming at the NASPA Annual Conference, in addition to their receptions, meetings, and other events. Presenters of sponsored sessions are free to focus on their program content and do not need to make any changes to their planned presentation. Presenters will also be connected with the corresponding Constituent Group to see what would be most beneficial for partnership around the session. A Constituent Sponsored Program Toolkit for presenters and Constituent Groups will launch in mid-January.
Where can I find the sponsored sessions?
Information about individual groups and sessions will be available when the full conference schedule is released later this fall. Check back in the spring for Constituent Group Guides that highlight all Constituent Group programs and events across the conference!
