Call for Pre-conference Workshops
The 2024 Conference Leadership Committee wants to hear your ideas for Pre-conference Workshops! Pre-conference Workshop proposals have an earlier submission deadline and review period than other program types. If you are interested in submitting a proposal for an extended pre-conference session, review the details on this page as you prepare your submission.
Pre-conference Workshops are half-day or full-day sessions that will take place prior to the NASPA Annual Conference on Saturday March 9 and Sunday, March 10. These programs provide an opportunity for attendees to discuss important and timely topics in depth.
Attending a Pre-conference Workshops requires an additional registration. In order to provide attendees with Pre-conference Workshop registration options when full conference registration and housing opens on October 2, the proposal submission period for Pre-conference Workshops is earlier than all other program types. This timeline allows Pre-conference Workshops to be reviewed, selected, and scheduled prior to October 2.
Proposals for Pre-conference Workshops are due on Monday, July 17 at 11:59pm Pacific Time. Program decisions will be shared in August, and presenters of accepted sessions will have one week to confirm their acceptance.
Crafting a Pre-conference Workshop Proposal
In addition to following the submissions guidelines outlined in the Call for Programs, a strong Pre-conference Workshop submission will outline how presenters intend to make an effective use of the extended session format. How would your topic benefit from an in-depth presentation? Is there enough material to keep participants engaged for a half-day or full-day session?
Successful Pre-conference Workshops typically structure the presentation time to include a variety of activities that require attendees to actively participate in the session, in addition to more traditional presentation or lecture formats. Pre-conference Workshops also benefit from having multiple presenters who share the effort of presenting an extended session, allowing different voices and perspectives to engage in the topic.
Visit the Call for Programs page to review the general submission guidelines and conference focus areas for #NASPA24, and to begin your submission.
Reviewers Needed!
NASPA is also seeking reviewers to evaluate Pre-conference Workshop proposals. Submissions will be available to review starting on July 18, and reviews will be due on July 28. Consider contributing your experience and expertise to the Pre-conference Workshop program review process! Applications for reviewers open in June.
Please note that you can submit a Pre-conference Workshop proposal and serve as a reviewer; you will not be assigned to review your own program.
