NASPA
2020 NASPA Annual Conference

About

The place-based NASPA Annual Conference, The Placement Exchange, and the NASPA Connected Conference in Austin, Texas and San Jose, California have been cancelled due to the Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) and its designation as a global pandemic by the World Health Organization.

Our Association’s gathering to reconnect, network, learn, and discuss research and practice that support student success has taken place annually for the last 101 years. (The only other time we did not hold an Association-wide meeting was during World War II.) From celebrating the achievements of our colleagues to participating in informal reunions with those who have become our chosen family, these moments away from day-to-day work are good for our own mental health and often sustain us throughout the year until the next time that we are all together.

2020 Core Programming

Defining Student Success

SA Pros must be innovative in our design of cross-divisional approaches that contribute to student success. We must create a holistic and supportive university environment in a manner that resonates with today’s college student.

Collaborations and Partnerships

Collaboration encourages creativity and innovation, offers a greater depth of knowledge, and introduces us to new ideas. We must cultivate new partnerships inside and outside of the academy.

Advocacy and Activism

Higher education is under scrutiny from many who question its value proposition. Student affairs educators must provide the best environment for students in an increasingly diverse student population with shifting expectations from stakeholders.

Redefining & Realigning the Student Affairs Profession

As the field and leadership diversifies, generationally, demographically, and functionally, tensions now exist among the existing narratives and the lived experience of some student affairs educators. We must evolve and realign the profession.
