The wellness & fitness events committee is continuously working hard to provide some fun opportunities for activity, engagement and connection, as well as finding some time just for you! Please check back often as details of events are finalized on a rolling basis.

Fitness Opportunities

Join the wellness initiatives and outside conference events committee for Fitness Opportunities! All offerings will be hosted at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. Space is limited so it'll be the first come, first serve. 

Fitness Activity: Soul II Sole Line Dance Experience
The Soul II Sole Line dance experience is an interactive, engaging, and exciting dance workshop where you can meet new friends, learn new dances, and exercise at the same time. Kevin Reese, NASPA Member and attendee, founded Soul II Sole in September 2017 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Soul line dancing is a group dance that combines exercise, music, and social interaction. The dances are choreographed to a variety of genres, including R&B, hip-hop, soul, funk, gospel, Motown, and contemporary hits. Come participate in a comfortable, stress free, fun filled, and non-judgmental environment.

Fitness Activity: Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Join us for an All Levels Gentle Vinyasa Flow designed to help you get ready for the day.  The practice will be inclusive for all levels.  If you are new to yoga or want to try yoga for the first time, please join us. Those will more experience will be invited to shape their practice to meet their needs.

Fitness Activity: Bounce Ya Brass 
Presented by Move Ya Brass, Bounce Ya Brass is a high energy cardio class taught by Move Ya Brass instructors to the beat of a live 5 member New Orleans brass band. Both challenging for the fitness-centric while accessible and enjoyable for newcomers, Bounce Ya Brass is always an entertaining and
rewarding workout. Bounce Ya Brass is MYB's signature class.

Morning Stroll to Café Du Monde
Who’s Up for an Early Morning Walk and World-Famous Café Du Monde Beignets?

The walk is approximately 20 minutes each way (.09 miles along the riverbank). Café Du Monde opens at 7:15am and we’ll return to the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Lobby around 8am. Since Cafe du Monde doesn't accept credit cards, please bring cash for beignets, coffee and any souvenirs.
